Behind the scenes of the second railway line between Bettembourg and Luxembourg

On its 29 August news programme, RTL made a reportage to about the construction of the second railway line between Bettembourg and Luxembourg.

At a time when the road and rail network has reached saturation point, this major mobility project will double transport capacity between the two cities and facilitate the movement of high-speed trains.

The cameras were taken to our worksite at Livange, where our teams and those of Baatz are carrying out major earthworks, consolidating the soil and laying networks on a 1.7 km section of the 7 km new route.

Here you can see the impressive work in progress, including the 11 m-deep earthworks to create the cut-and-cover tunnel that will allow trains to travel under the N31.
