A new neighbourhood, a new energy, a new way to experience Mersch. At Home Expo, we were proud to unveil Riva, the mixed-use neighbourhood being developed the Félix Giorgetti.
With a concept developed in collaboration with Concrete, Riva brings urban life and nature together with one ambition: to bring a new dimension to everyday living.
Where city life meets nature
Living close to nature, walking to the station, meeting friends on a terrace, picking up groceries just around the corner… At Riva, it all comes together. Across 16 hectares, more than 1,000 homes will sit alongside shops, offices, services and a school. Houses and apartments will cater to every stage of life, from a first home to a fresh start with the family.
The vision? A vibrant, welcoming neighbourhood that brings people together. Gardens to unwind in, shared spaces to connect, walking and cycling routes to keep moving. Architecture that welcomes natural light and opens up views of the surrounding greenery. And Mersch railway station just a short walk away, keeping everything within reach.
At the heart of it all, one destination will set the pace: Gutt Place. Designed as a contemporary village square, it will bring shops, restaurants and services together around a public space open to everyone. Morning coffee, a lunch break, catching up at the end of the day: this is where Riva’s heart will beat.
A landmark site. A new lease of life.
This new lease of life builds on a rich history. For almost 60 years, the former Cepal Agrocenter and its landmark silos shaped Mersch’s skyline.
In 2018, Félix Giorgetti began demolishing the site, setting its transformation in motion. Decontamination, ground remediation and the reuse of materials laid the foundations for the future neighbourhood. In total, 200,000 tonnes of concrete were reused within the project. A second life for the materials, a new purpose for the site.
First sales launch in 2027
The next milestone comes in 2027. Riva will take shape in three phases, with construction and sales progressing in stages. Infrastructure work began in September 2026. Sales for the first phase will launch in 2027, with construction scheduled to begin in 2028.
The story continues. Soon, those who choose Riva as a place to live, work and connect will be writing its next chapter.
