At the heart of every project, our Design Office acts as the link between the design phase and on-site implementation. Its expertise guarantees a well-managed, high-quality project. An interview with Philippe Berna, its director.

A passionate team with its feet firmly on the ground
What makes our Design Office so valuable is its grounding in reality. “Here, we speak the same language as our colleagues on site. I myself spent 10 years on site, and half my team has this hands-on experience of construction,” emphasises Philippe. This dual expertise creates genuine synergy between those who design and those who build, ensuring that plans are truly feasible.

Internal synergy that makes all the difference
Philippe Berna emphasises this direct link with our other services:
Unlike an external architect who produces a rather ‘basic’ plan, our Design Office models the actual construction. This level of precision enables our colleagues in the Quantity Surveying department to calculate exact quantities and produce technically sound cost estimates.
The Specialised Engineering team – led by Laurent Defat – is an integral part of the department and is currently expanding to offer a comprehensive service, from design through to completion. As a result, we provide the Housing Construction department with the most comprehensive set of construction drawings possible.
For the Sales team, this provides added peace of mind. Should any specific questions arise or adjustments be required, a technical response is immediate. There are no administrative hurdles or waiting times: the close proximity of the departments and direct communication enable us to remain flexible and responsive, including when dealing with customer feedback, whether positive or negative.

D’un côté, le standing de nos réalisations s’illustre par un soin renouvelé apporté aux parties communes. Nous concevons de véritables espaces de vie dès l’entrée du bâtiment en privilégiant des sas sécurisés, des volumes généreux, et des couloirs lumineux.
De l’autre, nous mettons l'accent sur la préfabrication à travers le développement de solutions innovantes hors-site. Fabriquer au sec et en atelier améliore les conditions de travail de nos équipes, garantit une finition impeccable et permet une maîtrise totale du planning. Notre ambition est désormais de généraliser ce mode de construction.
Did you know?
Our Design Office brings together a wide range of specialist disciplines.
Project managers coordinate the development of each building in close collaboration with the architects and local authorities. Our draughtsmen translate the project into working drawings, liaising constantly with the construction site. The town planning department also oversees the initial stages, whilst BIM modelling ensures the coordination of the design work; our interior designers and graphic designer are responsible for bringing our projects to life.
