A retention basin at Findel Airport
Construction of a retention basin to collect surface water run-offs from the tarmac and water used to put out fires at the Findel site.
The retention basin is composed of separate compartments. One of 9,500m3 for water run-offs from the apron of aircraft parking areas P1, P7 and P10, and another of 3,500m3 for water used to put out fires. The project also includes the laying of pipes upstream and downstream of the basin as well as replacing the electrical installations at the level of the E20 main access gate.
Part of the work was carried out within the airport’s secure enclosure, adding some administrative constraints.
Our teams also worked in collaboration with our Lean department for the construction of the first level walls and to optimise the way of working in terms of both performance speed and safety.
