Since May 2025, Félix Giorgetti has been working on the project to remove the PN13 level crossing in Dommeldange, a key project that is part of CFL's policy to improve rail safety and traffic flow on the Luxembourg network.

PN13, considered one of the busiest level crossings in the country, was officially closed on June 7, 2025. It should be noted that since 2012, 42 level crossings have been removed.

It is within this strategic framework that Félix Giorgetti was commissioned to lead this essential project, fulfilling the desire to reduce risks and optimize mobility for all. Our mission now is to create an alternative: a safe and modern underground access for pedestrians and cyclists.

Technical advancement: planned slippage

After completing the footbridge, our teams began securing the ground. This phase includes various shoring works—piles, secant piles, Berlin-type diaphragm walls, jet grouting—which are essential for maintaining ground stability. This will be followed by the drilling of 15-meter-deep foundation piles and earthworks.

The next stage will be dedicated to the prefabrication of the waterproof reinforced concrete frame that will form the final structure, measuring 4.50 m high, 5.50 m wide, and 15 m long. It will be put in place by sliding, representing the technical highlight of the construction. To carry out this operation, a total interruption of rail traffic is planned from May 23 to June 1, 2026.

The final underground tunnel will be accessible via ramps on either side of the tracks, supplemented by stairs and elevators adapted for people with reduced mobility. Exterior and urban development work will also be carried out, as well as the construction of technical facilities.
