Construction of the 140 m viaduct for the Lorentzweiler interchange
This impressive viaduct is made up of two aprons, each 14.50m wide.
Located on the right bank of the Alzette, at the foot of the Kummersbierg, the Lorentzweiler interchange serves the inhabitants of the Alzette valley by providing access to the A7 motorway. The viaduct is a 140m-long structure, including two decks with a width of 14.50m each.
The construction plans had to take into account the intersecting motorway and RN7 national road, as well as the Luxembourg - Mersch - Ettelbruck railway line.
Works carried out
Work completed :
- Diversion of main networks;
- Diversion of the RN7 national road;
- Creation of two roundabouts;
- A railway platform;
- A viaduct enabling the A7 motorway (140m) to cross over the RN7 national road;
- Motorway link section (200m);
- Interchange ramps;
- Several retention basins.
With a length of 4,000 metres and a width of 60 metres, the runway is renovated in sections and only at night.
Félix Giorgetti, in a consortium with Karp-Kneip Constructions, built for lux-Airport a new checkpoint as part of the rehabilitation work on the Findel runway.
Rangwee Tunnel II
Félix Giorgetti built a second tunnel alongside the existing Rangwee tunnel.
