The project to remove level crossing No. 59 is part of a CFL initiative to replace road-rail intersections in order to improve safety and ease traffic flow. In Moutfort, our teams have begun work on two separate structures: a road underpass for motorists, allowing vehicles to pass under the tracks without stopping or maneuvering, and, nearby, an underground passageway for pedestrians, providing them with a convenient route that will make it easier to cross from the Ledenbierg neighborhood to Rue du Chemin de Fer. The road layout will be adapted over a length of approximately 200 m.
A carefully planned construction site
The phasing of the work, which will take a total of 350 days, has been designed to preserve the continuity of local life. The first preparatory work involved monitoring the tracks and shoring using triaxial sensors, supporting the prefabrication pits with Berlin walls, and diverting the CFL networks.
In order to ensure the continuity of rail transport and limit the impact of the work on traffic, the two reinforced concrete structures that will form the future crossings were prefabricated on site.&nbsp;

With a total surface area of 14,000 m2, this office building will offer optimised, tailor-made and comfortable work spaces to promote the well-being, collaboration, exchanges and productivity of employees. Its BREEAM Excellent certification will guarantee its energy performance and sustainability. The Waves is also aiming for Well Gold certification and meets the standards for people with reduced mobility.

A real architectural jewel, it consists of two volumes of asymmetrical heights linked by a large open interior courtyard that bathes all the spaces in natural light. It is four storeys high on one side and seven storeys high on the other. The entrance is set back slightly, at the junction of the two buildings on the north-east fa&ccedil;ade, while access to the 100 parking spaces, located on the two basement levels, is via the south-west fa&ccedil;ade. The Waves also houses a large 360 m2 inner courtyard that will welcome occupants and visitors in a pleasant, green setting.

The Waves in November 2024

Nestled between the exit of the Fort Neipperg car park and the platforms of Central Station, the rue du Chemin de Fer will play a very important role in the construction of the new CFL headquarters. It will indeed be the entry point to the site. The road is being widened in two stages, with the first part completed in July 2023. The work involved widening the road and creating an access ramp to allow machinery to reach the site several metres below. The second phase will take place at the end of 2026, when the building is handed over and the ramp becomes an access point for emergency services.
<h3>From 3.5 to 7 m wide</h3>
The challenge lies in the narrowness of the site, between the car park exit at the top and the station platforms at the bottom. To maintain one-way traffic, an impressive gantry crane was installed, with a 60 m long jib and a hook height of 36 m. Our teams demolished the stairs leading down to a platform, as well as part of the platform and the retaining wall. New foundations were laid to build a new retaining wall, making it possible to extend the road from 3.5 to 7 m in width. The new road rests on 6 m-high mews, beams, predales and slabs cast on site. It is bordered by prefabricated cornices. The asphalt was laid by our partner Julien Cajot.

As part of the construction of the new CFL headquarters, our teams widened the Rue du Chemin de Fer.

Preparatory work

The joint venture F&eacute;lix Giorgetti, CDCL and Poeckes was chosen by Chemins de fer luxembourgeois to build its new 24,000 m2 head office.
It was also awarded the contract to install the living quarters, as well as cleaning out the old building and stabilising its fa&ccedil;ades.
Completion of this major project is scheduled for 2026.

A large-scale project

Elements typical of the building's construction period in the 1950s will be preserved, such as the façades.

A project with a very interesting architectural and environmental concept that echoes the values of our company. CFL opted for a partial demolition of the old building, which dates from the 1950s, while preserving elements typical of the architecture of the period, such as the main fa&ccedil;ades overlooking Place de la Gare, the central core, the entrance staircase and the mosaic mural in the entrance hall. The new building will also boast superior energy performance and is aiming for BREEAM Excellent certification.

CFL has chosen the joint venture Félix Giorgetti, CDCL and Poeckes to build its new head office, which will accommodate up to 1,200 employees.

The first building will rise to a height of 31 m over eight storeys, while the second will have five storeys and be 21 m high.
There are a number of special features to this project, in particular the floors, which will be made of concrete from the first floor upwards - requiring particular care during construction to ensure a perfect appearance.
The assignment also includes the external joinery and facades, with the installation of 360 window frames and 4,000 m2 of brickwork.

Certified BREEAM Very Good, the 20,000 m2 complex comprises two buildings on a common trunk of five levels - two of which are underground - covering 5,000 m2. 

Two-part building

Ettelbruck ONE, a 20,000 m2 complex developed by Landimmo Real Estate and built by the joint venture Félix Giorgetti and CDCL.

Landimmo Real Estate, a member of the Landewyck Group, has entrusted F&eacute;lix Giorgetti and CDCL with the construction of Ettelbruck One, its Nordstad Administrative Centre. Located in Ettelbruck, this complex of almost 20,000 m2 of gross floor area is being built on a site steeped in history, where a former tobacco factory belonging to the Landewyck Group once stood. The new building, with its modern, avant-garde architecture, will bring together several of the country's public institutions and administrations, a medical centre, offices, shops and restaurants. This BREEAM-certified project will bring a new dynamic to the region. Structural work began in September 2023 and will be completed by the end of 2024.

For Landimmo Real Estate, Félix Giorgetti and CDCL are responsible for the shell of Ettelbruck ONE, a 2,000 m2 administrative complex.

The 4,000 m2 of bricks on the facade are being laid piece by piece.

The road will start at the "Op der H&eacute;i" roundabout and end 4.4 km further north, a few hundred metres after the new Hosingen-Nord interchange at Dorscheid. This will require the construction of a number of engineering structures: seven bridges (including two biotope structures and a wildlife crossing) and a cut-and-cover tunnel. In addition to the network of stormwater pipes for the road and the existing pipes that will be relocated, six water distributors and four retention basins are planned. The stripped topsoil will be reused to cover the embankments and other infrastructure.

The Hosingen bypass is intended to relieve congestion in the village centre, which sees almost 17,000 vehicles pass through every day.

With a length of 350 m, the structure will consist of two tubes, each housing two lanes of traffic and as many pavements for pedestrians, separated by a reinforced concrete wall. The gauge will have a clearance height of 8 m for normal traffic and 5,50 m for exceptional transport. The technical supply and monitoring facilities will be located in a service building at the northern exit of the cut-and-cover tunnel. Construction of the cut-and-cover will involve major earthworks to a depth of 25 m, involving a total of 430,000 m3 of excavated material, all of which will be stored on site for re-use. With its rounded geometry, the construction of the structure represents quite a challenge. A 15 m long double carriage will then be installed to carry out the concreting of the cut-and-cover and its two tubes in phases.

Félix Giorgetti, in temporary association with Baatz, inaugurated the long-awaited Hosingen bypass construction project with the completion of its first lot: a 325 m-long cut-and-cover tunnel.

The earthworks have started in September 2023.

The project was officially launched in June 2023 in the presence of François Bausch (Minister for Mobility and Public Works), Romain Wester (Mayor), Marc Ries (Ponts et Chaussées) and Paul Giorgetti.

The environment also plays an important role in this new route. In order to protect the local fauna, our teams have installed protective netting and will build in crossings under the road to allow frogs, in particular, to cross in complete safety. The Moulterbach stream will also be restored and enhanced, with a new bed meandering peacefully along the new road. In keeping with the environmental approach, 85,000 m3 of material from the earthworks will be processed on site and reused for the pavement boxes.

Protecting nature

This is why our teams have opted for a different methodology and will be using the top-down construction technique. The area will first be stabilised with 400 90 cm diameter piles, on which a covering slab will be placed.&nbsp;
Our teams will then come and dig eight metres below the structure to pour its 70 cm invert and its walls, representing 20,000 m3 of material to be evacuated.
<h3>A curved trajectory</h3>
This underpinning work is one of the greatest challenges of this project. Added to this is the fact that the trajectory of the trench is curved. A formwork carriage will be used to pour concrete over the entire height of the walls, in 10 m increments, to ensure that the curvature of the structure is respected.

Dipach-Gare bypass

For many years now, the Route des Trois Cantons - the main thoroughfare for the municipality to the west of the capital - has been saturated. More than 8,000 vehicles pass through every day, slowed down by the PN5 level crossing, which is closed for up to 40 minutes an hour. The new bypass will provide a direct link between the municipalities of Reckange-sur-Mess and Bettange-sur-Mess, offering an alternative to the Route des Trois Cantons, which runs through the conurbation, and eliminating its level crossing for greater safety. With a length of 2.2 km, the route will include two lanes of traffic and two junctions at each end to ensure that traffic flows smoothly. It will comprise a number of structures and facilities:
<ul>
<li>a 125 m-long cut-and-cover tunnel, with two 50 m-long access hoppers, which will run under the roundabout towards Bettange-sur-Mess ;</li>
<li>an 85 m mixed metal and concrete footbridge for soft mobility;</li>
<li>a reinforced concrete overpass 15 m long and 5 m wide;</li>
<li>cycle paths;</li>
<li>a farm track;</li>
<li>hydraulic structures such as canals and a retention basin;</li>
<li>a crossroads;</li>
<li>noise protection measures such as noise barriers.</li>

This solution involves prefabricating walls at Green Stone's production site in Bastogne, Belgium. These are then delivered to the site, ready to be installed according to an installation plan supplied by its design office. There are many advantages to this method, including speed of installation, time savings and improved working conditions for the workers involved. For example, a house can be built in one storey a day, compared with 10 days using the traditional method. The walls are also made of Poroton&reg;, a clay brick containing mineral wool insulation. These combined materials offer excellent thermal performance, making it possible to design homes that consume less energy. Thanks to its integrated insulation, there is no longer any need for external insulation, and fa&ccedil;ade renderings can be applied directly, saving even more time on planning.

To build our housing estate, we chose Green Stone technology, a high-performance solution.

High-performance, eco-responsible construction

Heading to Bascharage, southwest of Luxembourg. This section of the city of K&auml;erjeng in the canton of Capellen has nearly 6,000 inhabitants and is known for its National Brewery, one of the symbols of Luxembourg&rsquo;s terroir.
Located 16 km from Luxembourg-city, 14 km from Esch-sur-Alzette, 7 km from the Belgian border and 13 km from the French border, Bascharage is close to the country&rsquo;s biggest cities and to the main roads, while offering a calm and pleasant living environment.
In terms of mobility, the city has a train station (at Sanem and P&eacute;tange) and is served by numerous bus lines.
Cyclists can also use the two cycle paths that pass through the town.
All the amenities of a big city are also present; schools and high schools, banks and institutions or shops (Cactus, pharmacies, restaurants, gas stations, etc.). Everything is there, five minutes from your future home.

This new residential development is in a quiet, privileged location, set back from the main road between Avenue de Luxembourg and Rue des Pr&eacute;s. It comprises 15 single-family homes and three small-scale residences, each with four flats. With its soft colours, zinc roofing, large elegantly framed windows and green spaces, our teams have created a haven of peace, an invitation to well-being and a gentle way of life.

In addition, two bridges will be built to carry the N13 under the A4, and the existing bridge on rue de l'Europe will be demolished. The retention basin connected to the Mess river below will also be redeveloped.
To ensure the peace and quiet of residents, 9,400 m2 of acoustic walls will be installed along the route.
As this is a busy road, traffic will have to be kept moving throughout the works. For this reason, the width of the carriageway and the speed limit have been reduced until the work is completed in February 2026.

The works will initially involve redesigning half of the Esch-Luxembourg interchange, with the creation of two slip roads.

Especially as motorists currently have to make a diversion through the town to reach the capital. This has a major impact on the comfort and safety of local residents.
Direct access to GRIDX
Organised in several phases, the work being carried out by F&eacute;lix Giorgetti on behalf of Ponts et Chauss&eacute;es and the municipality of Mondercrange will initially involve redesigning half of the Esch-Luxembourg interchange, with the creation of two slip roads. These will be served by an oval roundabout 230 m long and 80 m wide, which will extend under the motorway and be equipped with traffic lights. It will also provide direct access to the Wickrange industrial estate and lead to GRIDX.&nbsp;

Inaugurated at the end of the 1960s, the Pontpierre interchange is one of the oldest in the country. Traffic has exploded since then, making it necessary to adapt the infrastructure, which has just three slip roads for entering and leaving the A4.

The construction of a hospital involves a number of technical features, including the use of baryta concrete (high density) for the so-called "critical" areas, which contain X-ray machines or sensitive products. The building's waterproofing has also been improved. The perimeter walls and floor slab are covered with a white tank. The reinforcement is reinforced to prevent cracking, and all critical points such as the joints where the concrete is poured are treated to ensure watertightness. A membrane that adheres to the concrete as it is poured is used for critical areas.
Delivery of the shell, external fittings and networks is scheduled for the end of 2027.

Technical features

Conception

Surrounded by the current CHL and the maternity ward, the new hospital is located at the corner of Val Fleuri and Federspiel Street

Covering an area of 54,158 m2, the new building stretches between Val Fleuri and Rue Ferderspiel, on the site where the old maternity hospital once stood.
The building has nine storeys and three basement levels. It has 378 rooms, 478 beds, 18 operating theatres, 6 endoscopy rooms and two helipads.
The aim of the project is to bring together on a single site all the acute clinical activities hitherto split between CHL Centre and CHL Eich, as well as the Institut national de chirurgie cardiaque et de cardiologie interventionnelle (INCCI). It is also surrounded by the existing CHL, to which it will be linked by a footbridge, and the maternity unit, which opened in 2015.

A project under discussion since 2013, the long-awaited construction of the new CHL began in February 2024. The structural work on the country's largest hospital is being carried out by the joint venture of Félix Gioregetti, CBL, Galère Lux and Lux TP.

The new hospital should open in 2028.

The challenge also lies in the schedule, since the shell of the building must be completed by the end of 2024. That's just nine months after work began.

Reactivity and mobilisation

In March 2024, F&eacute;lix Giorgetti launched the construction of Losch's new headquarters in Kockelscheuer, all&eacute;e Louis Ackermann in the municipality of Roeser. Located alongside Cube 4T8 - Losch's innovation centre - the 9,772 m2 office building is designed to accommodate 300 people over three floors, with two levels of basement parking. The building has been designed with sustainability in mind, and will incorporate geothermal energy, a photovoltaic system and a rainwater recovery system.

What's special about this project? The majority of the building is made of architectural concrete, which means that the walls will be left exposed. The quality of the concrete and its execution must therefore be impeccable. Of the 7,253 m3 of concrete, 4,560 m3 will be made from visible concrete.

Losch Luxembourg, a company with a long history in the automotive sector, laid the foundation stone for its new head office this year. And the historic automotive company entrusted the structural work to Félix Giorgetti.

The walls are made of architectural concrete.

For example, the clean concrete covers an area of 9,500 m2 and is 15 cm high. The invert is a good one metre thick. The challenge lies mainly in the high rate of reinforcement and concreting. The site was divided into 15 zones to optimise the schedule. This is why we are pre-assembling the columns and walls.

The particularity of this project lies in the massive quantities of concrete and steel needed to create the reinforced concrete, which will guarantee the solidity and watertightness of the whole structure.

A monumental project

Built in 1991, the current wastewater treatment plant treats urban wastewater from several neighbouring municipalities as well as wastewater from the airport. But after more than three decades in service, it has reached its maximum capacity. Faced with demographic change and growing needs, Sidest has decided to double the plant's treatment capacity, from 35,000 to 122,000 population equivalents.
The project involves the construction of an imposing infrastructure: 146 metres long, 65 metres wide and 13 metres high, including pools and technical facilities. The work will be carried out in an enclosure that has been excavated and reinforced beforehand, at a depth of 15 metres.

However, FM's construction project had a specific feature: it did not follow the traditional promotional development model. &ldquo;FM wanted to purchase the land and be free to choose its own builder. Typically, we work in a 'design and build' model, meaning the same company handles both design and construction. It just so happened that we had a plot of land in our portfolio that fit the requirements perfectly: the former Citro&euml;n garage site on Rue Robert Stumper in Gasperich. FM was convinced by its potential, and our next goal was to prove we were the ideal partner to build their campus under the best conditions.&rdquo;

“In 2022, we were informed that FM was looking for a large plot of land to build its headquarters, which would include offices and a laboratory. The company was looking for a site in Luxembourg City or Esch to generate synergies with LIST and the University of Luxembourg,” explains Paul Feider, managing director at Félix Giorgetti.

The perfect site

At the back, nature extends across a vast vegetated area that follows the course of the stream, creating a perfect fusion between the building and its environment.

FM's decision to establish its European headquarters in Luxembourg was no coincidence. Not only does the Grand Duchy benefit from a strategic location in the heart of Europe, but the American insurer also found high-quality, trustworthy partners who have supported it for many years.
As Malcom Roberts recalled during the groundbreaking ceremony, the story between FM and Luxembourg began in 2017. That year, the American insurer chose to establish a presence in Luxembourg following Brexit in order to maintain its operations within the European Union.
In 2022, ties were further strengthened following the visit of HRH the Hereditary Grand Duke to the FM Global Research Campus in Rhode Island, USA. At the end of this visit, a memorandum of understanding was signed for cooperation between the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) and FM in the field of research.
Luxembourg was once again able to demonstrate that it is a fertile ground for hosting the future Science and Technology Center. All that remained was to find the right location&mdash;and the right partner...

For the realization of its FM Science and Technology Center, the American insurer placed its trust in Félix Giorgetti, impressed both by the quality of the proposed site and by our dual expertise as developer and builder.

The American insurer FM entrusted Félix Giorgetti with the construction of its European headquarters, impressed both by the quality of the proposed site and by our dual expertise as a developer and builder.

Overview of the construction site

Record height achieved for the sails: 13.60 m concreted in a single pour, a highly technical process and a first for our teams

The earthworks, which involved moving 3,000 m&sup3; of earth, prepared the ground for the next stages. At the same time, we laid the deep foundations: piles and micropiles. &nbsp;We are currently working on the abutments: the raft foundations, the walls, and the deep foundations for the pier. Once this phase is complete, the steel structure will be installed by Cimolai, our partner specializing in steel construction.&nbsp;

A series of challenges 

The technical specifications are impressive: the footbridge consists of two main spans, 65 m on the Weimershof side and 135 m on the Cents side. The central pier, rising to a height of around 70 m, will support the structure, while the elevator tower in Neudorf will reach a height of around 60 m. The deck, 6 m wide with a usable width of 4.5 m, will be positioned at a height of approximately 50 m. The difference in height between Weimershof and Cents is approximately 5 m, adding an additional challenge to the assembly of this innovative footbridge.

Cents Gateway

The Félix Giorgetti and Kuhn group is preparing to build a remarkable project for the City of Luxembourg: the construction of a majestic footbridge linking the districts of Weimershof, Neudorf, and Cents, right in the heart of Luxembourg City

The 200-meter-long pedestrian and bicycle bridge will connect the residential district of Cents to the Kirchberg district. An elevator will complete the connection to the Neudorf district. Our teams began work on the three sites in April 2025.

The Cents gateway

The new headquarters of the Big Four KPMG Luxembourg, is distinguished by its unique architecture, with a load-bearing facade made of Corten steel, formed by X-shaped elements. A second skin at 50&nbsp;cm from the load-bearing elements, is a curtain wall composed of triple-glazed windows.
The building has 4 basements for parking and archives, and 5 floors of 2,000m&sup2; to 2,700m&sup2; per level, providing almost 17,900m&sup2;.
Highly functional and offering great flexibility of layout, the building includes:
<ul>
<li>a large atrium in the centre, spanning all levels;</li>
<li>an entrance hall of some 340m&sup2;;</li>
<li>5 floors;</li>
<li>1 basement with some natural light;</li>
<li>3 basements for parking, utility rooms and archives;</li>
<li>bicycle parking close to the new tram line.</li>
</ul>
The building required BREEAM certification for its design, construction and operation, and was awarded a &ldquo;very good&rdquo; label.

It is one of the most remarkable buildings on avenue J.-F. Kennedy, the main traffic artery in Kirchberg.

<h3>Land in Kirchberg</h3>
KPMG Luxembourg was looking for a plot of land on the Kirchberg Plateau where it could become the owner of its own building, set up its headquarters there, and group together all its employees. In order to do so, the audit and consulting firm had to submit a tender to the Fund for the Urbanisation and Development of the Kirchberg Plateau (FUAK), the owner and manager of the space. F&eacute;lix Giorgetti had already taken on a similar mission during the creation of a new headquarters for law firm Arendt &amp; Medernach, also in Kirchberg. The construction company gave KPMG Luxembourg the benefit of his local roots, its experience and its in-depth knowledge of the market, institutions and local actors in order to lay the foundations of this ambitious project.
We guided our client through the entire process, starting with the preparation of the application for the FUAK tender which had to include financial, legal, technical and architectural studies of the project. This first step ended in success with the signing of the deed of sale.
<h3>Overall coordination</h3>
F&eacute;lix Giorgetti undertook the overall coordination of the development, construction, completion and interior fittings for the project, and acted as the sole interlocutor with KPMG Luxembourg in order to facilitate discussions and decision-making. More than just a source of support, F&eacute;lix Giorgetti proved a fount of valuable suggestions. We took the initiative especially when it came to the strong and distinctive identity of the building. Today, its load-bearing facade of cross-shaped Corten (a self-patinating steel) elements, glass and aluminium has become a real architectural signature and a landmark on the main traffic artery of Kirchberg.
<h3>A turnkey project</h3>
As a specialist in project development and management, F&eacute;lix Giorgetti mobilised all of its know-how and skills to guarantee the success of this project. Our teams were responsible for the entire development, construction, completion and fitting out of the building.

Route du Nord - Lorentzweiler

The two viaducts - which take their name from the valleys they cross, Glaasbuurgronn and Groussheck - are rectilinear structures of three and four spans, respectively, of constant height without any bias. Each structure includes two parallel decks, offset longitudinally. Each deck consists of a mixed steel-concrete structure composed of two continuous metal box girders and braced on supports, supporting a reinforced concrete slab connected to the beams.

As part of the construction of the Route du Nord, Félix Giorgetti carried out numerous works including the construction of two viaducts, Glaasbuurgronn and Groussheck, named after the valleys they cross.
