Crossing the Aessebaach valley
As part of the construction of the Junglinster bypass, Félix Giorgetti built a viaduct of 444 metres long by 17 metres wide. A great technical challenge for our teams.
The Junglinster viaduct has 5 spans and accommodates three traffic lanes. It is a mixed bridge with 2 metal box girders supporting a concrete slab of variable thickness from 0.25 to 0.40m.
Each truss has a length of 74m, a height of 6.45m and a total weight of 240 tons, and was transported to the site by 4 « exceptional load » transports and assembled on the ground before being lifted on the reinforced concrete hollow stacks.
The central span box, with a length of 37m, a height of 1.90m to 2.45m and a total weight of 65 tons, was transported to site in one piece.
The framework was erected parallel to the structure, except for pier 4 which was placed with a 90° rotation. The piece completely assembled has a length of 93.5m and a weight of approximately 273 tons, put in place by a high-capacity crawler crane.
After installation and adjustment of the framework, the construction of the reinforced concrete deck began. To do this, our teams created a mobile formwork box which, which made it possible to build the deck in its full width of 17m, totaling 24 concreting phases. Another first for Giorgetti.
